Mahurangi Area
This area was dreated in 1999 when the old Auckland Area was restructured, splitting into Mahurangi, a new, smaller Auckland, and Counties Manukau.
The area was named after Mahurangi, the daughter of the Maori chief wh designed the Tainui canoe.
